The Curtiss Hawk 81-A2 is one of the most recognizable versions of the Curtiss P-40 fighter, made famous by the pilots of the American Volunteer Group (AVG), known worldwide as the "Flying Tigers." The distinctive shark-like jaws, combat over China, and the effective tactics developed by General Claire Chennault made these aircraft a symbol of the early stages of the war in the Far East.

This Arma Hobby model depicts the export version of the Hawk 81-A2 used by the AVG in China from 1941 to 1942. These aircraft wore a distinctive camouflage pattern based on British specifications, applied using American DuPont paints, which remain a source of interest to aviation historians and modelers to this day.

The new model was designed with high-quality detail and easy assembly in mind. The plastic parts are mounted on a single gray plastic sprue and a single transparent sprue, which also includes an Arma Jig for correct landing gear alignment.

Kit Contents:

Plastic parts on a single gray plastic sprue,

transparent parts and an Arma Jig on a single sprue,

3D print with a pilot seat and seat belts,

glass and wheel masks,

Cartograf decals with three Flying Tigers paint schemes,

a code enabling download of 3D files for self-printing exhaust pipes, machine gun barrels, and gunsights.

Following the success of the Curtiss P-36 Hawk models, Arma Hobby presents the next stage in the development of this famous American fighter family. The Curtiss Hawk 81-A2 is the first model in the new family of Curtiss Hawk 81, Tomahawk II, and P-40B/C models being developed by Arma Hobby.
